The MIK recognized that one of the biggest needs of the now growing generation is financial independence and the ability to start their own business, however they do not have the relevant knowledge and competencies. Our target group is young people between the ages of 16 and 26 who want to start a business and already have a marketable idea but have difficulties to find suitable mentoring. The MIK Starts scholarship program helps youth by providing them the opportunity to learn how to start an innovative business through a series of 7 lectures.

The lectures are held by renowned design, business development, marketing and finance professionals, giving participants the theoretical and practical knowledge to help them turn their ideas into reality and gain a greater insight into entering the international market. Besides, MIK Start is not just a business development program: students with a team can take part in professional mentoring in addition to the lectures, so they can also get answers to their questions from their mentors during the consultation sessions. In our autumn round we got close to 300 MIK Start members from 6 countries, of which 100 users have registered on the HSUP interface. We are proud to report that 25 students submitted project ideas successfully, 2 of which were selected and announced. By and large, our MIK Start project tries to provide professional help to young people across the border to contribute to economic growth and to be able to master the basic skills of entering the market by creating an international network. Our program is also unique in that it can work effectively in the current epidemic situation, thanks to the interface of HSUP. Our goal is to reach young people abroad with the appropriate motivation and content, and by 2023 to help more than 1,000 students in the entire Carpathian Basin start their businesses.
